Coin Description
The obverse of this coin highlights the rich and long-standing heritage of the Kremnica mint. At its center is a stylized representation of the mint itself. This historic building is depicted with clean lines, evoking both the strength and continuity of the institution. Furthermore, the façade is surrounded by decorative elements inspired by motifs historically used on coins minted in Kremnica. Thus, the design pays homage to the mint’s role as a center for engraving and coin production since the 14th century.
Around the central image is the inscription “700VÝROČIE MINCOVNE KREMNICA,” followed by the French translation “700th anniversary of the Kremnica mint.” This double inscription clearly indicates the purpose of the commemoration. Furthermore, the year “2028” is engraved at the bottom, indicating the year of issue of the coin. Therefore, these inscriptions connect the event to the current currency in a sober and solemn style.
On the sides, small motifs of mint tools, such as the punch and press, suggest the craftsmanship and technical skill passed down through generations.
