In addition, Honor\u00e9 III holds a scepter in his right hand, a symbol of his authority. To the left of the portrait, we read the inscription “HONOR\u00c9 III”, and to the right, “MONACO”. Below the portrait, we find the dates “1720 – Birth – 2020”. These dates mark the tercentenary of the prince’s birth. In addition, the outer border of the coin features the twelve stars of the European Union.
